Downgrade a Litematica schematic from 1.21 to 1.20.1
Yes. Upload your 1.21 .litematic and convert it to Litematica for 1.20.1, and it opens in Litematica on a 1.20.1 world.
The conversion runs on our servers and rewrites the schematic for the older release; it does not need Litematica or Minecraft on your machine.
It's free, there's no account, and we don't store your file.
Steps
- Open the converter.Go to the converter and drop your 1.21 .litematic file.
- Pick Litematica and 1.20.1.Choose Litematica as the target and set the Minecraft version to 1.20.1.
- Convert and download.Download the rewritten .litematic and load it in Litematica on your 1.20.1 world.
What carries over, and what does not
Kept
- Every block and its block state
- Chests, signs and other block entities
- Mobs, item frames and armor stands
- Separate regions, kept separate
Which Litematica versions can open it
Litematica records a Version number in the file, and each build of Litematica reads a file whose Version is at or below its own. We write that Version from the release you pick: 5 for releases up to 1.17.1, 6 up to 1.20.4, and 7 after.
1.20.1 is below the 1.20.4 line, so the file we write for 1.20.1 opens in Litematica for 1.20.1 and later. A schematic kept above 1.20.4 carries the newer Version and opens only in Litematica for 1.20.5 and newer.
Below 1.13 the states are the 1.12 set, which we do not write as Litematic, so a target that old is not offered here.
Common questions
- Will the 1.20.1 file still open in 1.21?
- Yes. Litematica reads a file whose Version is at or below its own, and 1.20.1 writes an older Version than 1.21, so a 1.21 Litematica opens it too.
- Do I need Litematica installed to convert?
- No. The conversion runs on our servers. You only need Litematica to load the result in-game.
- Does anything get lost going from 1.21 to 1.20.1?
- The format is the same, so blocks, block states, block entities, entities and regions all carry over. A block that exists only in 1.21 has no 1.20.1 equivalent.
